Goals and Objectives
GOAL #1
To educate all children in Savannah-Chatham County to be successful citizens.

Objectives
  • Increase SAT, CRCT, End of Course, Georgia High School Graduation Tests scores by 5%
  • Maintain ITBS scores at national average
  • Maintain English/Language Arts (ELA) section of GHSGT at 95% or above
  • Increase Graduation Rate by 5%
  • Ensure that all schools meet Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) based on 06-07 AYP report
  • Decrease drop-out rate at each high school by 5% of student
  • Improve success in transitional grades (sixth and ninth) through standardize test scores and attendance
  • Reduce truancy rates annually by 2% of student population
  • Increase Vocational/Technical Career pathways through partnerships with local businesses and increased offerings at each school
  • Maintain A.P. participation at each school
  • Maintain I.B. participation at participating school
GOAL #2
To provide fiscal accountability to the citizens of Savannah-Chatham County.

Objectives
  • Ensure quarterly financial reports are available to public within 10 days of submittal to school board
  • Achieve financial reporting standards to qualify for various financial awards such as Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting, Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) Distinguished Budget Presentation Award, and Association of School Business Officials International (ASBO) Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting
GOAL #3
To provide clean, safe and educationally appropriate facilities conducive to learning.

Objectives
  • Maximize funding based upon Facilities Assessment and Facility Plan
  • Reassign students to attendance zoned schools based on school capacity
  • Implement intervention strategies to improve discipline and reduce incidents by 5%
  • Create a uniform standard of campus security features for schools that reduces intrusion and vandalism by 5%
  • Ensure 95% success rate for on-time transportation of students to and from assigned schools
GOAL #4
To provide an atmosphere for staff to become innovators and be risk takers.

Objectives
  • Acknowledge independent thinking through various recognition programs
  • Align professional development to support classroom performance standards
  • Complete 100 % of evaluations on-time
