Based on state and local policy, in order to be promoted to the next grade, students in the 3rd grade are expected to meet the reading standard on the Criterion-Referenced Competency Tests (CRCT), and 5th and 8th graders are expected to meet the standard for reading and mathematics on the CRCT.
Members of Curriculum & Instruction have developed booklets for parents with tips and suggested activities that can be done at home to help students achieve on these tests. Of course, the best way for a student to do well on any test is consistent attendance at school, wanting to learn while at school and completion of all assigned work
All schools offer tutorial sessions after school as well. Because we know that parents play an important role in their children’s academic success, we are providing this to you.
