What Teachers Do Daily

Research shows that teachers are the prime factor regarding the teaching and learning that occurs in the classroom.  In order for teaching and learning to be optimized, good teachers will tell you that they do this and more:

  • guarantee that they teach 100% of the curriculum to all students.  This includes using formative assessments to ensure that instructional plans are continually revised to meet the needs of students and ensure mastery of skills.  Teachers will have an attitude of, "I am not successful unless every one of my students masters the curriculum."

  • use data to develop targeted instructional plans that ensure success for all.

  • develop caring relationships with students to understand their needs and to motivate them to learn.

  • use Best Practices daily in the classroom, taking into consideration the various learning styles of their students.

  • provide ongoing communication to parents that is meaningful and easy to understand, with specific ways to help their children.

  • manage the classroom environment to promote self-responsibility, character-building, and teamwork in order to optimize teaching and learning.
