Eight SCCPSS elementary schools will participate in the 3rd Annual Chess Extravaganza at Savannah Mall on Friday, May 4, 2007. This year, approximately a total of 180 students will be participating from Largo-Tibet, Hesse, West Chatham, Pooler, Isle of Hope, Thunderbolt, Jacob G. Smith and Georgetown Elementary Schools.

The eight schools will face off in the Mall’s Food Court at 10:15 a.m.  Students will be divided into skill levels, beginning, intermediate and advanced so they are paired with students of the same caliber from other schools during the event.  This is not a tournament, just an opportunity for the students to play with new opponents. 

Students will play chess until 11:45 a.m. then break for lunch.
