Shane Farrar, eighth grade student at Oglethorpe Charter School and Sarah Stidley, freshman at Savannah Arts Academy are featured in the April 2007 issue of Junior Scholastic Magazine. The article entitled “Left Behind” features both students whose fathers are serving and protecting our country in Iraq.
Sarah, who’s featured on the cover, talked about missing her father and the worries she has for his safety. “I’m, really proud of him, but I do get worried about him,” says Sarah. Shane expressed the same concerns. He also talked about the multiple times his father has been deployed and how hard it is to not have him around all the time.
