Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Thomas Lockamy is joined by school board members Alexander Luten and Irene Hines and Dr. Michael Zoller and Dr. Ericka Russell-Petty to celebrate the completion of SCCPSS students in the Medical Preceptorship Program.

The students are Jared Tolbert from Johnson; Megan Moisant from Sav Arts; Ashley Hendley from Windsor Forest; Chaniqua Scott; Cheryl Lau from Jenkins; and Rahja Sharp from Groves.

The Preceptorship Program is designed to give high school seniors 3 days of internship with local physicians specializing in areas from neurosurgery to radiation oncology.  The seven seniors will be shadowing the physicians including observations in the operating rooms, on hospital rounds and in the doctors’ offices.
