The Chatham County Youth Commission will host a Back-to-School Press Conference on Monday, August 27, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. on the front steps of the Savannah Chatham County Board of Education Building, 208 Bull Street.  

Invited speakers include Savannah Mayor Otis S. Johnson, Chatham County Commission Chairman, Pete Liakakis, Youth Commission Founder, Priscilla D. Thomas, Youth Commission Director, Alderman Van R. Johnson, II, SCCPSS President, Joe Buck and SCCPSS Superintendent, Dr. Thomas Lockamy.

In accordance with the new public school uniform policy, the members of the Youth Commission will be dressed in their respective school uniforms and will encourage the proper wear of uniforms during the 2007-2008 school year.

"We want to set the example for public school students this year," says Anthony Williams, Chairman-Elect of the Youth Commission.  "We want to show that our youth are excited, responsible and are ready to learn this coming school year."
