SCCPSS Division of Finance Recognized for Excellence in Financial Reporting

The Division of Finance recently received notification of two awards for the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2006.
The Association of School Business Officials (ASBO) International presented SCCPSS’ Division of Finance with its Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting Award, certifying that the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report substantially conforms to the principles and standards of financial reporting as recommended and adopted by the Association of School Business Officials. The prestigious award is earned after intensive reviews of financial reports by expert panels of governmental accountants and practicing governmental finance officials.
In addition, the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) presented its Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting, recognizing that the district published an easily readable and efficiently organized Comprehensive Annual Financial Report satisfying both generally accepted accounting principles and applicable legal requirements. This is the 13th consecutive year for each of these awards.
