Savannah High School to Host Dribble-N-Drive Extravaganza

In an effort to fulfill the dream of Savannah native and Beach High School graduate/basketball standout Kenyon Jones to create a youth center for inner-city children in the Savannah area, the Kenyon Jones Dribble-N-Drive (KJDD) foundation will present a one-day Dribble-N-Drive extravaganza for Savannah youth on Saturday, July 7, 2007 at Savannah High School.

Jones played college basketball for the University of San Francisco then went on to a successful pro career in Europe.  He played for two teams in Greece’s top league, had two stints with Maroussi Athens and played with the NBA’s Denver Nuggets at the Vegas Summer League before passing away from a heart attack two years ago.

There will be various activities going on throughout the fundraiser such as face painting, raffles for prizes, concessions with a variety of foods and snacks, music and a hospitality room for donators.  The basketball camp portion of the dribble-n-drive extravaganza, hosted by some of Kenyon’s former teammates and other professional and international basketball players, will begin at 1:00 p.m. and will run until 6:00 p.m.

Admission is free for entrance into the event.  For more information on the Dribble-N-Drive extravaganza and foundation, visit their website at http://www.dribblendrive.org/ or contact Johnny Williams, CEO of the KDJJ foundation, at 912-308-2662 or via email at jw@dribblendrive.org.
