The Savannah-Chatham County Public School Systems’ School Food and Nutrition Department sent a local delegation to the Georgia School Nutrition Association’s (GSNA) Conference in Jekyll Island, Georgia where they were awarded the Silver Scroll Award, the second highest award in the designated division, for earning 1150 points in their plan of action.  Last year the program earned the Bronze School, the third highest award in the designated division.

“Mrs. Onetha Bonaparte, SNP Multi-Site Manager at Hodge and Gadsden Elementary Schools played a key role in helping our program achieve the Silver Scroll Award and we salute her for that,” noted School Nutrition Program Director, Altheria Maynard.

Also at the conference, Ms. Carliss Powell, SNP Manager at Butler Elementary School was installed as the GSNA President of District 1 for the 2001-2008 school year.  For more information on the GSNA conference, visit their website at http://www.gsfsa.com/.
