Pre-AP Summer Institutes:

Rising 6th, 7th and 8th Graders

July 7-17 (Monday-Thursday)

8:30am-1:00pm

Cost $100.00

 

Students will experiment with computer, writing, study skills and mathematics classes that will guide them in preparing for middle and high school.

 

Superintendent’s Scholars

Armstrong Atlantic State University

Rising 9th and 10th graders

July 7-17 (Monday-Thursday)

Cost $100.00

 

Students will participate in advanced math, writing, study skills and college prep classes.

Scholars’ Academy

Armstrong Atlantic State University

First time Advanced Placement (AP) students

July 21-25

8:30am-11:30am Morning Session

12:30pm-3:30pm Afternoon Session

Cost $75.00 per session

 

Students will learn the study skills and expectations to be successful taking AP classes.

Course will be available in English Language/Literature, Calculus or US History.

 

Applications for Pre-AP Summer Institutes will be available after April 1, 2008 at high schools, middle schools and the Gifted and Advanced Learning Department, room 207 at the BOE.

Diggin’ History!

Massie Heritage Center

Grades 3-6

Cost $150.00

 

This is a hands-on camp where participants will learn about the tools of an archaeologist, conduct on “excavation,” and explore local archaeological sites.  Camp fee includes admission and transportation to historic sites and a daily snack.  Participants should bring a bagged lunch.  To register, call 201-5070.

Fast Track Science Camp

Charles Ellis Montessori Academy

Cost $179 before March 31st, $199 after

Art Smarts offers a unique summer camp experience that combines the expertise and prestige of one of the nation’s leading art colleges, the Savannah College of Art and Design, with the faculty and facilities of Savannah Arts Academy.  Campers will benefit from a compelling core curriculum designed to enhance their understanding and appreciation of the arts.  All supplies and activities are included in the registration fee.  Campers must bring lunch and snacks. 2008 Flag Football Leadership Camp

Boys and Girls, Ages 11-14

Young Males School Readiness Camp

Savannah Arts Academy

This camp is open to SCCPSS young males in grades third through fifth.  Students will be taught academic courses, study skills, character building, self discipline and coping strategies.  For more information, contact the Pupil Personnel office at 395-5584.
