Hannah Cullen and Isabell Macgill are the district’s top readers in the First Grade Reading Incentive Contest. The purpose of the contest was to help foster a love of reading at an early age and to assist in the district’s goal of having every first grade student reading on grade level by the end of the 2007-2008 school year.
Hannah, a student at Marshpoint Elementary, is the 1st place winner. She wins a $100 gift card to Barnes and Noble and a plaque. Her class will also receive an ice cream social from Leopold’s Ice Cream. In addition, the Marshpoint Media Center will receive $1250. Isabell attends J.G. Smith Elementary. As 2nd place winner she gets a $50 gift card to Barnes and Noble and a certificate. The J.G. Smith Media Center will receive $750.
