Three SCCPSS schools have been awarded grant money to help accelerate the integration of advanced instructional technology in its classrooms.
West Chatham Elementary School, Coastal Middle School, and Windsor Forest High School will receive the Georgia Department of Education’s Teachers, Teamwork and Technology (T3) grant to improve instruction to meet the needs of the 21st Century learner and impact overall student achievement.
Each school will receive $93,592 to purchase Smart® boards, classroom performance systems, student lap-top computers, multimedia projectors, printers, document cameras, and digital cameras.
"This grant will provide Windsor Forest High School with needed technology resources and extensive training that will be used to improve instruction and provide students with hands-on experience using up-to-date technology. We are honored to have this opportunity,” says Julie Fallin, Media Specialist.
The grant process was highly competitive, and only eighty grants were funded statewide with preferential consideration given to applications submitted by districts that had never received these grant funds in the past.
Eligibility for this grant was determined by the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) definition for a high-need school as determined for Title II-D competitive grants and outlined in the Section 2403 of NCLB.
