Congratulations to Savannah High School Seniors Jasmine Kirkland and Sharazi Reeves. Both students placed recently in the 2008 Georgia Career Student Association (GSCA) State Contest. Jasmine took home first place honors in Entrepreneurship. Sharazi placed third in Applied Communications. More than three hundred students from sixteen area high schools participated in the competition earlier this month on Jekyll Island.
The GCSA contest enables members to demonstrate proficiency in a number of subjects through projects, leadership skills and occupational preparation. This event allows students to showcase their achievements, stimulate growth and improvement in integrating career/technical skills, academic skills and experiences.
Established in 1970, GCSA (formerly known as VOCA) integrates academic and career technical programs in a way that is not only fun and rewarding for students, but also benefits their communities.
