 SCCPSS’ 2008-2009 Pre-K Lottery

The Savannah-Chatham County Public School Systems’ Pre-Kindergarten Lottery for the 2008-2009 school year will take place on Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at 10 a.m.  Funding from the Georgia Lottery, pending approval, will provide a limited number of Pre-K classes to be held at various SCCPSS sites.  The following is important information for parents:

 

1. You can apply at two different sites however; one must be the site in your attendance zone.

 

2. All applications will be placed in the boxes labeled attendance zone or non-attendance zone at the schools.

 

3. During the lottery process schools will draw all of their attendance zone applications first and then the non-attendance zone applications.  Applications will be numbered in the order that they are drawn.

 

4. Proof of residence is required at the time the application is submitted and at registration.

 

5. During the week of March 24th written communication regarding the status of your child/children will be mailed to the address on the application.

 

6. Applications will continue to be accepted after the lottery drawing, but will be placed on the waiting list.

 

7. To be eligible for Pre-K for the 2008-2009 school year, your child must be four years old on or before September 1, 2008.

 

8. The child must be a Chatham County resident.

 

 9. If your child is selected, the following required documents are needed: Georgia Pre-school/Childcare Immunization Certificate #3231, birth certificate, social security card, Ear, Eye & Dental (EED) certificate and proof of residence.

 

 

*Remember, a maximum of two applications may be submitted. Submitting more than two will disqualify the applicant from the lottery process.

  

Applications for the 2008-2009 Pre-Kindergarten Program are available through Monday, March 17, 2008 at the school of your choice or the Board of Education’s information desk at 208 Bull Street.
