Students in grades fourth, fifth and sixth recently participated in the local portion of the Georgia National Fair Bear Creative Writing Contest. Three SCCPSS students will be moving on to the state competition for their winning stories.

6th Grade: Lily Stephens (Oglethorpe Charter) Teacher: Benita Ramsey
Each year the creative writing competition centers around the Georgia National Fair mascot, a black bear, who roamed the woods near the fairgrounds for many years. The 2008 writing theme is "Fair Bear Wins a Ribbon.”
State winners will be notified by April 20th.
