SCCPSS Elementary Students To Take Part in the GMEA District One Elementary Choral Clinic

The Georgia Music Educators Association (GMEA) District One Elementary Choral Clinic will be held this Friday, February 29, 2008 at Savannah Arts Academy, 500 Washington Avenue.
More than 85 students from Bloomingdale Elementary, Butler Elementary, Charles Ellis Montessori, Heard Elementary, Southwest Elementary and White Bluff Elementary schools will be participating in the clinic along with 6 music teachers, a clinician, an accompanist, principal and 9 chaperones.
The students were selected from the 4th and 5th grades to sing together, learn new songs, and present a concert on Friday evening at 6:30 p.m.
Susan Holmberg, music professor and clinician from Armstrong Atlantic University will work with the students by sharing her talents and experiences. The students will be provided with lunch and dinner as they rehearse throughout the day to prepare for the concert.
The Choral Clinic will begin at 10:00 a.m. in the auditorium at Savannah Arts Academy and conclude at 7:30 p.m.
