The Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) has announced that the Savannah-Chatham County Public School System’s Division of Finance, Budgeting Services Office has received the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for the current fiscal year. This is the 17^th consecutive year the district has received this honor.  The award is the highest recognition in governmental budgeting and is a significant achievement for recipients. 

The award reflects SCCPSS’ commitment to meet the highest principals of governmental budgeting and satisfy national guidelines for effective budget presentation. The following   guidelines are designed to assess how well an organization’s budget serves as:

                                                - A policy document

                                                - A financial plan

                                                - An operations guide

                                                - A communications device

All four guidelines must be met in order to receive the award.
