Representatives from Armstrong Atlantic State University, Savannah Technical College, Georgia Southern University, and Savannah State University recently visited Garden City Elementary school to share information with fifth grade students at their first annual College Day.

Garden City staff organized the day to be an exciting, introductory experience for their students.  “Students need to know, even at this early age, that they can make choices concerning their future,” stated Dee Ann Baldwin, Garden City Elementary School Counselor.  “All of the students were very enthusiastic about this opportunity and asked many questions ranging from residence hall life to degree offerings/opportunities.”

Students were treated to a reception afterwards with cake supplied by
Garden City PTA and door prizes provided by the representatives.  School staff says the experience was very positive for all involved and they look forward to having another College Day again next year!
