Two SCCPSS eighth grade students have earned first place honors in the Regional Social Science Fair at Georgia Southern University. Stephen Ingram won for his project Did the North Georgia Gold Rush have a positive or negative effect on Georgia? Antone’ Davis-Correia also won for his project How does the Troy Anthony Davis case affect Georgia? They are two of only 16 students selected from the southeast to advance to the state competition.
The state competition will be held Saturday, March 22, 2008 at Clayton State University in Morrow, Georgia.
Local, regional and state social science fairs present exhibitions of student work from grades 5-12. Each project is designed to show research and conclusions about the study of people and their relationships to their physical and social environment.
