On Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at Carey Hilliard’s Restaurant, Southwest Middle School faculty, staff, PTA members, parents and business partners will celebrate students for being “good citizens” during their 2nd Annual Good Citizenship Banquet.

Students were selected by their classroom teachers based on good citizenship and their ability to serve as role models to the rest of their peers throughout the year.  Good grades, attendance and discipline records were also factors in the selection process.  One student from each homeroom will be recognized and awarded with a citizenship medal and certificate.

Staff at Southwest Middle has made this an annual event to show their appreciation for all students that demonstrate good character, excel academically, serve as role models to others and provide leadership in and out of the classroom.

WTOC News Anchor Dawn Baker will serve as the speaker for the banquet. Southwest Middle School’s business partners and school council are sponsoring the event.
