Johnson High School to Host Mega Fest 4

Sol C. Johnson is hosting their fourth annual Megafest event on Thursday, May 8, 2008 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. in the school’s Commons Area. This event is for everyone that will be attending Johnson next year. Megafest is an effort to help Johnson High newcomers to get a jumpstart on the 2008-2009 school year.

The Megafest event will be a fun, entertaining, and informative evening. Every student organization will have a booth set up throughout the school to discuss their programs, to highlight their accomplishments and to increase membership. There will be more than 30 different academic, social, community, and performance organizations available for students to choose from. School staff and administrators will be on hand to discuss school uniforms and career pathways. 

The evening will begin with the rising 9th Grade Orientation at 6:00 p.m.  Following the orientation, parents will have the opportunity to visit student booths and attend mini breakout sessions on several the topics including, the IB Program, career pathways, graduation/testing and college prep/financial aid.

DECA will also sponsor the “Candy Land” Fashion Show at 7:30 p.m. in the school’s auditorium. The fashion show will feature: Uniforms the right way, What to wear- proper out of uniform attire, Dress for Success, and Prom Attire. The donation for the fashion show is $5.  

This is sure to be an exciting evening for all!
