Cynthia Smith, a teacher at Oglethorpe Charter School, is the second Savannah-Chatham County Public School System employee to have her name drawn in the United Way’s Critz Truck giveaway! The truck giveaway is the reward given to a single winner who participates in the United Way’s 2008 campaign to raise funds to assist non-profit agencies within the Savannah community and the people they serve.
There will be a total of twelve drawings held before the United Way’s victory celebration on Friday, November 21, 2008, where a single winner will be determined. Anyone who attends a United Way campaign meeting at their workplace is eligible to win the truck, no pledge or donation is required. Ms. Smith turned in her form to win the car at Oglethorpe Charter’s campaign meeting.
At the victory celebration, Ms. Cynthia Smith and Ms. Tammy Hall, the first school system employee whose name was drawn, along with each of the other finalists will be given the opportunity to select a single key from a group of twelve. Each person will attempt to start the donated GMC truck with the key they chose and the finalist whose key starts the engine will drive away in a brand new truck!
For more information on how you can enter to win, please see your company’s United Way chairperson or contact Kim Stewart at the United Way of the Coastal Empire at 912-651-7728.
