The E-SPLOST program continues its progress with the groundbreaking of SCCPSS’ newest and much anticipated K-8 school in Godley Station K-8 School. The drawings have been prepared and approved and the permits are in place, it’s now time to proceed from design to construction.
The Board of Education for the City of Savannah and the County of Chatham, School Superintendent Dr. Thomas B. Lockamy, Jr., and elected dignitaries conducted a groundbreaking ceremony Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at 11 a.m..

The school is expected to open in the Fall of 2010.
The school will include:
- 167,142 Square Feet
- 74 Classrooms, including the following:
- 2 Pre-K Classrooms with dedicated playground
- 4 Computer/Technology Labs
- 1 Consumer Sciences Lab
- 4 Resource Classrooms
- 2 Music Classrooms
- 2 Art Classrooms
· Technology filled facility with internet access and 15 data outlets per standard classroom
· 16,000 Sq Ft Physical Education facility with full sized Gymnasium
· Cafeteria for after school activities
· 5,500 Square Feet Media Center
· Stage in Cafeteria for productions/assemblies
· Electronic Access Control at all exterior doors
· Surveillance Cameras
· Sidewalks along property perimeter to provide safe pedestrian access for walkers.
