Student of the Month nominations should be submitted to Latisha Arrington by the principals or their appointed campus communicators.  Each school is required to submit one name along with the nomination form on or before the deadlines established for each month. 

Applications will be reviewed by a panel of judges and rate based on a rubric. The nomination with the highest score will be selected to represent the district as the Superintendent's Student of the Month.

Student of the Month Timeline

The selected Students’ of the Month will be recognized during the monthly Board Meetings. Nomination forms will be posted on the website and the Intranet encouraging schools to nominate students each month.

All nominations forms should be submitted via-email to latisha.arrington@sccpss.com on or before the deadline.

The selected student for Student of the Month will be required to attend the Board Meeting. They will be recognized by the Superintendent. He will present them with a plaque award and a $100 savings bond courtesy of Wachovia Bank. 

The students’ photo and summary of achievement will be featured on the district website and in a special section in the Savannah Morning Newspaper. He/she will also be featured on WSAV's Student of the Month segment.

A photo session will be scheduled with Lifetouch Photography for the student to take an 8”x10” glossy photo that will be displayed in the entrance area of 208 Bull Street building and to be used for print materials and the website.
