Greetings 2007-2008 Teachers of the Year!
I hope you and your students had a successful first day of school today!
As your school’s current Teacher of the Year (TOTY), you will represent your school at the Superintendent’s Professional Senate. Along with Dr. Lockamy, members of Dr. Lockamy’s administrative staff, and from time to time, with our board of education members, we will collaborate to bring our school system to a level of world-class excellence.
The accomplishments of last year’s Professional Senate, under the leadership of Mrs. Lolisa Boleman, are impressive. They identified and solved many educational issues – and as a result of their effective work, education in Chatham County’s public schools has improved. However, as a teacher of the year, you know that improvement is a continuous process, and this is where “our” Professional Senate will roll up our sleeves and get involved.
Our meeting schedule will be the 4th Tuesday of each month from 4:00 to 5:15 pm at the Whitney Complex on 2 Laura Street (off President Street).
Please mark the following dates on your professional calendar to assure monthly representation for your school. “ALL MEANS ALL” and we need the unique skills of all TOTYs at every meeting to raise the bar for all children.
- September 25, 2007

- January 22, 2008

Most sincerely,
Terry Finlay
