| Biography: Julie was born and raised in Champaign County, Illinois. After college graduation she and her husband, Reinhold (a native of Effingham County, Georgia) relocated to St. Louis, Missouri where Julie began her 18-year career in nonprofit management. Julie has served as Executive Director of the Children’s Miracle Network Telethon of Greater St. Louis, the St. Louis Ronald McDonald House, Ronald McDonald Children’s Charities Foundation of Greater St. Louis and, in Savannah, as President & CEO of Parent & Child Development Services, Inc. Since 2005 she has worked in the field of training and development.
Julie has been involved in initiatives to improve local public education which include serving the Community Advisory Group for the 2000-2001 Savannah-Chatham Superintendent Search, the Board of Directors of the Savannah Fund for Excellence in Public Education, as chair of the Communities in Schools task force for Effingham County, and as Vice President of Finance for the Governing Board of Oglethorpe Charter School. She currently serves as Chair of the school board's Accountability Committee and as the board's representative to the Youth Futures Authority and Healthy Savannah. Julie is also a member of the Governance & Training Task Force for the national Council of Urban Boards of Education.
Julie and Reinhold are the parents of two sons and a daughter: a 2009 graduate of Sol C. Johnson High School, a senior at Windsor Forest High School and a 7th grader at Oglethorpe Charter School. The Gerbsch’s are active members at Savannah Christian Church.
