Dear Atom Smasher Web Site Visitor,

Welcome to the Sol C. Johnson High School web site. We hold high expectations for the success of everyone at Johnson High School. As such, our goal is to educate ALL students. We believe that ALL students can become independent, productive citizens. To this end, we promote the concept that ALL students can succeed academically. The staff of Johnson High School uses all resources to ensure that these beliefs are our daily focus:

«     Everyone can learn.

«     Every individual deserves the opportunity to learn.

«     Everyone is unique and has value.

«     Everyone deserves to be treated with respect.

«     Everyone deserves a safe environment for learning.

«     Everyone deserves the opportunity to experience success.

«     Learning is an ongoing process that involves everyone.

«     Johnson High School is a "Right to Learn" school.

We are committed to the task of fostering the most productive learning environment possible. The curriculum emphasizes a combined college and career education preparatory course of study. This dual tract curriculum is reinforced by rigorous education programs that address the diverse educational needs of students in liberal arts and sciences to include: International Baccalaureate, Advanced Placement and Gifted, World Languages, Engineering and Communications, Business, Marketing, Information Technology, Drama and Performing Arts, and NJROTC. Johnson High School students are encouraged to develop to their optimal potential and to be a reflection of the school's motto-"Not to Equal But to Excel."

Thank you for this virtual visit to the Sol C. Johnson High School web site. It is my pleasure to serve as your principal. Please contact us for more information.

Smashingly Yours,

Freddie H. Gilyard, Ed.D.
