The Library
Students are urged to visit the Media Center throughout the day. The agenda book works as a pass to the Media Center from your teacher. You have your agenda book to come and leave the library. Students have to present their valid I.D. in order to check out books. Otherwise, you may not check out books if you have a temporary I.D.
Each student is responsible for taking proper care of books and other accessories at the Media Center. Any misbehavior from the students will be dismissed from the library. If any materials from the library are damaged or lost, then students must make a reimbursement before they can check out another book. Students who owe money to another school make pay back the school before they are allowed to check out additional books from our facility.
I.D. Badges
Students must wear their Identification Badges at all times. The first badge initial to a student is free. If a student damages or defaces the badge, then a new badge must be purchased.
Replacement Badges: $6.00
Replacement Lanyard: $2.00
Book Check Out
Students use their I.D. badges to check out books. A student may check out one book for up to 2 weeks the first time. After the book has been return satisfactorily, they can check out two books at a time. Upon check out, a date card will be placed inside the book pocket. The date card serves as a reminder of when the book is due and an important part of our inventory system.
If a student were to lose the date card, they would have to pay a $3 fine. An overdue book amasses a fine of $.05 per school day. Until the books are returned and fines are paid, students cannot check out books. Overdue and fine notices will be sent to the student’s homeroom regularly. Please return overdue books promptly to avoid further fines. Report cards will be held for students with overdue books and fines.
Computer Use
The computer in the media center and classrooms are used to access the library online catalog, World Book Encyclopedia, and the Internet. In order to monitor the Internet in the media center, students are required to have an Internet pass from their teacher identifying their research topic. The charge for printing information from the internet is $.05 per page. This fee aids in replacing paper and printing ink.
