Black bears can be found in 41 of the 50 US states including Georgia; in fact, it is the largest predator in the state! Even though black bears look slow and lumbering, they can be very quick when chasing down prey and are excellent tree climbers. Black bears can eat almost everything from meat to plants to berries. During cold months, black bears enter a state of hibernation where their breathing and heart rate slows and they do not need to eat or defecate. Visit our black bear woods in the morning (10:00 - 11:00) to see our bear when he is most active.
