Red Fox
Vulpes vulpes

The red fox is commonly found throughout much of the United States. This well adapted carnivore can eat almost anything it can catch and will often eat carrion (dead animals) as well. Foxes tend to be very possessive of their food and will defend it against even bigger animals! Look for six red fox in our large exhibit including 4 kits born in 2006.
