Take an adventure to the “dark side” and learn about animals that make a living after sunset. Sometimes it’s good to be in the dark.
October 19 Shedding Stereotypes
Slither on in to Oatland Island to learn the truth about those often misunderstood creatures, snakes. A reptile representative will offer participants a safe opportunity to learn about these fascinating animals.
October 26 Spectacular Spiders
How come spiders don’t stick to their own webs? Explore this and other frequently asked questions about those web weaving wonders, spiders.
November 2 A Camping we will Go!
Grab your backpack and come with us as we take an imaginary camping trip. A “camp site” including a tent will be set up for children to explore. Be sure to warm up your vocal chords to sing campfires songs, and be ready to enjoy those all time favorite camping treats- S’mores!
November 9 Symbol of Freedom: Bald Eagle
Gather with us as we learn about the symbol of the United States, the bald eagle. We will make an eagle craft and take a walk to visit Arnold and Francesca to take a closer look at these majestic birds.
November 16 Talking Turkey
Turkeys always seem to have something to say. Follow us to the barnyard where we will visit Darrel and Darrel Oatland Island’s resident turkeys to see what insights they have to share.
