Fairy and Toad House Competition

April 10, 2010 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Wear your costumes and bring your imaginations for a day of enchantment at our first annual Fairy and Toad House Competition on April 10, 2010 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.  This event is all about the “wee folk”-fairies, pixies, sprites, and getting up close with the natural world. Children and their adults may enter either a fairy house or toad house building contest using all natural materials. Will your house be able to lure a Fairy from her wings? Would a toad dare to tread past your threshold? House designs will be evaluated by a panel of judges and winners will be awarded prizes.  The homes will remain on display after the competition. Be sure to bring your whole family to stroll Oatland’s enchanted trails and see if you can catch a glimpse of any gnomes, trolls, elves and those warty wonders, TOADS!  Click on 'Special Events' for a complete schedule and contest rules.
