Frequently Asked Questions

What types of guest facilities are available?

Food
While we do not currently have a concession stand, we do offer vending machines and covered picnic pavilions.  Guests are welcome to bring a picnic lunch and enjoy our many shady spots.

Restrooms
Restrooms are located in the main building and in the Georgia Farm exhibit.

Gifts
Shop on the wild side at our gift shop located in the main building.  A variety of wildlife-themed items such as shirts, mugs and other collectables are featured.  Inventory changes regularly so check back often!

When is the best time to visit?
Many of our animals live in spacious natural exhibits and might be active during any seasons or time of day.  Try to get to the center right at opening (10:00 – 11:00 am) or on an overcast day to see the animals at their most active!  The summer months are hot and animals will seek shade to rest through the hot part of the day.  Try coming in the cooler months of November – February.

How long does a typical visit last?
The average guest spends about 2-hours at the center.  Many guests see only half the center in one trip while others spend a great deal of time observing the animals at each exhibit.

Should we bring any special items with us?
Check the weather forecast ahead of time and dress appropriately.  Make sure to wear comfortable shoes, bring sunscreen and bug spray.  Don’t forget a camera!
