 Construction

 

    There are opportunities everywhere in the construction industry for people with all kinds of skills, talents, and educational backgrounds. In this pathway you are introduced to the history and traditions of the carpentry, masonry, plumbing, and electrical craft trades. You will learn to accurately and safely use all hand and power tools, measuring and layout instruments, ladders, and personal safety rigging devices for the construction and wiring of buildings to industry specifications.

    You will also learn to perform basic masonry operations and plumbing common household sanitary fixtures and appliances; as well as how to develop blueprint and schematic reading skills common to construction, electrical and plumbing systems, and masonry. The Construction Pathway will prepare you for occupations that are vital to the building/construction industry. Students who plan a career in this field become knowledgeable about the quality construction and systems of buildings in which they live and work.
