New Gateway Promotion Requirements for Grades 2, 4, & 7
The Savannah-Chatham County Public School System is working to increase the literacy of all students to ensure their future academic success.
Effective this school year, students in grades 2, 4, and 7 must demonstrate their competency in Reading to be eligible for promotion to the next grade. The requirements will increase in each of the next four years.
The required Reading proficiency levels for the 2011-2012 school year are as follows:
