Board Approves Budget that Includes Reduction in Millage Rate

Despite a projected revenue reduction of $2.8 million, the adopted FY 2026 budget maintains the district’s focus on investment in students and staff.

SCCPSS Staff Shift to Four Day Work Week Over the Summer Months

SCCPSS will implement a 4-day work schedule in June and July utilizing a 10-hour workday during this period. During this time, all district buildings will be closed on Fridays.

USACE Vessel Named after Tyrone Chisholm
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Dedicate Survey Vessel in Honor of Groves High Graduate

Army Sergeant Tyrone Chisholm was on his second tour in Iraq when he was killed by a roadside bomb on November 11, 2005, at the age of 27.

Windsor Forest High Student Receives Cousin Itt Award for Flight Training

Board Members sit around the dais in the Board Room During Meeting

At the Special Called Board Meeting Tuesday evening, the Board adopted the FY 2026 Budget for All Funds. The final budget reflects no mill increase and includes a reduction of 0.15 mills for a total combined millage of 17.331 mills, while maintaining our commitment to invest in students and staff.

The Board of Public Education for the City of Savannah and the County of Chatham has tentatively adopted a millage rate which will require an increase in property taxes by 3.89 percent.

Board Approves Resolution for ESPLOST V

A resolution was approved to reimpose, levy, and collect a sales and use tax for educational purposes conditioned upon approval by qualified voters residing within Chatham County in a referendum to be held March 18, 2025
