Seven SCCPSS staff members were recently informed they've been awarded Golden Grants for entries they submitted to McDonald's Golden Grants Committee this year. The Golden Grants awards are intended to make a community impact by fueling the imagination, education and growth of area students by supporting individuals, educators, programs and organizations serving students grades K-12. In our region, there were ten $1,000 grants and twenty $500 grants available. Grants are awarded based on creativity and hands-on application of projects.
Activities qualified for the grants include the following, as long as need is demonstrated:
- Arts activities
- Education initiatives
- COVID-19 relief-related efforts
- Mentorship and empowerment programs
- After-school programs
- Community service
