Nine Savannah Chatham County Public School students and their parents pledged to maintain their good grades, attend school regularly and behave in a manner that will keep them headed toward post-secondary education and achievement. REACH Georgia’s mission is to ensure Georgia’s low income, academically promising students have the academic, social, and financial support needed to graduate from high school, access college, and achieve postsecondary success. This is accomplished through a partnership of Georgia’s public education agencies and private, corporate stakeholders throughout the state.
Governor Nathan Deal launched the Complete College Georgia initiative as a “strategic investment in our students and our state." The goal of Complete College Georgia is to increase by 60% the number of Georgians graduating with relevant postsecondary degrees by 2025 to support an ever-changing workforce. Realizing Educational Achievement Can Happen (REACH) is one of the five programs created to help achieve that goal. Georgia recognized post- secondary enrollment, persistence and attainment begins much earlier in a student's educational path than their junior or senior year of high school. REACH is administered by the Georgia Student Finance Authority (GSFA) and serves as a point of intersection among public agencies, the local school systems, communities and state wide private sector partners.
