Appropriate Student Devices for Distance Learning

​​​​​Are you wondering if your home computer will work for your child during distance learning?  Here are a few suggestions if you are using a device other than one supplied by the District.  

  • Any Windows 10 desktop or laptop
  • Any Chromebook
  • Android tablet
  • iPad
  • MacBook that is less than 4 years in age and/or is still capable of receiving updates and using Chrome or FireFox browsers 

Any one of these is suitable for use by SCCPSS students during distance learning.  itsLearning, the new cloud-based learning management system, can be accessed using any Internet connected device, including all devices above, as well as any SmartPhone. 

For online communication, students will need

  • Earbuds or headphones
  • Speakers 
  • Microphone   

For video interaction, a camera is needed.

Internal speakers, microphone and camera can be used on devices with these options.
