GMAS 5th Grade Math Assessments Report
District staff presented the Board with a report on 2022 5th Grade Math Assessments. The district saw declines from previous years that are in line with many trends across the nation, but SY 22 student performance still surpassed the SCCPSS Comparison Group (Georgia school districts of like size and demographic makeup). SY 2022 represents a new baseline for performance. Contract Approved for Graduations at Enmarket Arena in 2023
The Board approved the award of M23259 with Oak View Group Facilities, LLC for rental of facilities and services at the Enmarket Arena May 21-25, 2023, for Graduation Ceremonies. The total Cost is $125,064.

2023-24 Academic Calendar Reviewed
The draft 2023-2024 Academic Calendar was presented for review and awareness during the November 2, 2022, Board Meeting using the framework of the current 2022-2023 Academic Calendar. A calendar recommendation is under development by administration using feedback received by the Superintendent's Professional Senate. Administration seeks Board action during the December 7, 2022, Board meeting.

Board Receives Quality Designation
The Georgia School Board Association has recognized the Savannah-Chatham County Board of Education as a Quality Board for 2022. Superintendent Recognized as National Finalist
The Association for Career and Technical Education announced Dr. Ann Levett as the 2022 ACTE Region II Carl Perkins Community Service Award. This award recognizes the finest career and technical education leaders who have demonstrated innovation in the classroom, Dr Levett is one of only five individuals named as a National Finalist for the 2023 award, which will be announced in November. Beach Alumnus and current GSU student Isaiah Jobe-Winn read the accolades for Dr. Levett into the record.
American Education Week Proclamation
The Board proclaimed the week of November 13-19, 2022 be recognized as the 101st Annual Observance of American Education Week in the Savannah-Chatham County Public School System and all throughout Chatham County.

School Board Member Compensation
The Board urges the General Assembly to review the annual compensation levels for Board of Education members as proposed under SB 419 during the 2022 Legislative Session. A Board resolution will be reviewed for formal adoption and submission to the Georgia General Assembly in preparation for the 2023 Legislative Session.

More Schools to Receive Multimedia Classroom Presentation Systems
The Board approved four additional schools to be added to the list for AE Intercom, classroom audio and camera upgrades to include Butler ES, Gadsden ES, Juliette Low ES, and Shuman ES with no additional funds being added to a contact with Netplanner Systems Inc approved earlier this year.
