Jenkins High School

The new Jenkins STEM High School replaced the existing school located on a 40-acre site off of DeRenne Avenue. The $66M, 239,000 square foot, two-story high school is located directly behind the old Jenkins High School site and includes a gymnasium, auditorium, cafeteria, shooting range, energy labs with solar panels, and a media center. Jenkins boasts seventy-four instructional spaces: 37 classrooms, 2 engineering labs, 10 science labs and 3 computer labs. In addition, the new school’s athletic facilities include a wrestling room, baseball field, softball field, practice football field and tennis courts. This high school also includes facilities to support a full STEM curriculum, a special needs wing for Exceptional Children of the Coastal Georgia Comprehensive Academy. Jenkins will accommodate 1,375 students. This project is masonry wall construction with a Construction Management at Risk delivery method. At project completion, the entire existing high school will be demolished and the front drive to the school will be a stunning tree lined avenue. The building  welcomed students in August 2021 at the start of the 21/22 school year.
