Summer Learning
EXCEL this summer! SCCPSS offers a number of enrichment activities this summer for students to explore various career and technical fields, as well as credit recovery, skill enhancement and more. The goals of Summer EXCEL are to support sutdents who need additional academic attention, expand opportunities for enrichment and real world experiences, and ensure students stay on track for success in the upcoming school year. There are four tracks for enhanced learning:
- Credit Acquisition: For High School Students (10-12) seeking to earn an initial credit or recover credits
- Promotion/Grade Recovery: For students in grades 3-12 needing academic remediation for promotion and/or graduation
- Blended Learning: Levearage instructional platforms for targeted individual and small group support
- Literacy Enrichment: For English learners in grades K-3
Enrichment Programs are offered this summer as well. There are fee-based camps, as well as non-fee based camps, apprenticeships and workforce readiness programs. Transportation is available to most programs, and breakfast and lunch will be provided. In addition, wellness activities and support is integrated into the weekly schedule with services provided by J.C. Lewis Health Care and Curtis V. Cooper Health Care. Red Carpet Ready: Spa & Beauty is a fun and creative summer study where students explore skincare, hairstyling, makeup, and self-care techniques.
STEAM Dream is an exciting summer camp where students explore science, technology, engineering, arts, and math through hands-on projects and creative problem-solving.
Ready, Set, Action: Film Production is a dynamic summer experience where students dive into the world of filmmaking, learning scriptwriting, cinematography, and video editing.
Master Chef in the Making is a fun and interactive summer program where students learn essential cooking skills, kitchen safety, and the art of creating delicious meals.
Health Heroes: Future Medics is an inspiring summer program where students explore the world of healthcare through hands-on activities, medical simulations, and expert-led workshops.
Gear Up: Trade Skills Adventure is an interactive summer camp where students explore hands-on careers in the skilled trades, from construction and welding to electrical work and automotive repair.
Discovering Ag is an engaging program where students explore the science, technology, and careers behind gardening, food production, and sustainability.
Code Quest & Booming Robotics is an exciting summer camp where students dive into the world of coding, robotics, and problem-solving through interactive tasks and hands-on projects
Be A Boss: Entrepreneurial Ventures is a dynamic summer camp where students learn the fundamentals of business, innovation, and leadership through hands-on projects and real-world challenges.
Ready to gain real-world experience? Apply for the Student Workforce Apprenticeship Program (S.W.A.P.) and explore careers across the district!
Summer school will operate on a Monday through Thursday schedule, with students attending for a half-day each session. This structure maximizes learning while allowing flexibility for enrichment opportunities.
Junior University, World Languages and AP Boot Camps will be offered this summer at Georgia Southern Armstrong Campus. » Click for more information

Operation 15 is a hands on camp experience run by the Board of Education Police Department.
