About Us

boepd chief and deputy chief with principal

The Savannah-Chatham Board of Education Police Department (BOEPD) exists to ensure that every student learns in an environment that is safe, supportive, and built for success. Serving nearly 36,000 students across 60 schools, our officers are a daily presence in hallways, at crosswalks, and throughout our campuses.

We are more than law enforcement. We are partners in student success.
Through mentorship, relationship-building, and proactive engagement, our department is committed to moving beyond traditional school policing. We work alongside students, families, educators, and community partners to create campuses where students feel both physically secure and emotionally supported.

Our work is guided by three core commitments:

Leading with Care — Approaching every interaction with professionalism, compassion, and respect.
Serving with Purpose — Empowering students through mentorship and partnership.
Building Trust — Strengthening relationships through transparency and accountability.

This website reflects our renewed commitment to serving and protecting the Savannah-Chatham County Public School System community. We invite you to explore our vision, learn about our programs, and partner with us in supporting every student’s success.
