Promotion Requirements
Kindergarten
- Adequately apply the oral/written language, reading, and mathematics taught during the year as observed, demonstrated, or tested.
- Meet the requirements of the system's attendance policy. REF: Board Policy JBA
- Special provisions can be made for students who are English Learners (ELs) and students with identified disabilities.
Grades 1-5
- Have a final grade of 70 or higher in oral/written language, reading, mathematics, social studies, and science.

Grades 6-8
- Have a final grade of 70 or higher in oral/written language, reading, mathematics, social studies, and science.
- Have a final grade of 70 or higher in 75% of the total number of exploratory courses taken (Each nine-weeks of a semester or year-long course will be considered as a complete exploratory for this purpose)

Grades 9-12
All students MUST meet the requirements of the system's attendance policy. REF: Board Policy JBA

Students must have successfully earned at least 16 units of credit toward graduation with:
- Minimum of 3 units of English
- Minimum of 3 units of Mathematics
- Minimum of 3 units of Science
- Minimum of 2.5 units of Social Studies
- Minimum of 1 unit in World Language
- Minimum of 1 unit in a CTAE course for CTAE pathway students
Are You Ready to Graduate?
SCCPSS graduates need 24 units and 20 hours of community service to graduate. Units must be in the specific areas as identified in the chart below.

Students who entered 9th grade for the first time during the 2019-2020 school term or after must follow the graduation requirements above. Please note the requirements above are based on the student completing either the college pathway or the CTAE pathway. Students completing the CTAE pathway graduation option must complete 3 courses in a specific CTAE pathway as outlined by the GADOE.
If you are a Fine Arts, World Language, or Advanced Academic Pathway student, you must meet the requirements of the College Pathway in addition to the requirements for Fine Arts, World Language, or Advanced Academics.
