Student Leadership Program

The Student Leadership Program (SLP) is a dynamic community initiative aimed at equipping students with essential skills to navigate opportunities beyond the traditional classroom setting. By engaging in career and industry tours, interactive leadership workshops, and community service activities, participants gain valuable insights and experiences to prepare them for future local workforce demands.

Program Components:

  • Career Exploration: Students partake in immersive tours of local businesses and industries to gain firsthand knowledge of various career pathways and emerging job markets.
  • Leadership Workshops: Interactive sessions are conducted to enhance students' leadership capabilities, fostering qualities such as communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and decision-making.
  • Community Service: SLP encourages active participation in community service projects, instilling a sense of civic responsibility and empathy among students.

Annual Activities:

  • Monthly Meetings: Throughout the school year, students convene for monthly meetings to delve into college and career options, refine their leadership skills, and engage in meaningful discussions.
  • Summer Trips: Each year, sophomore and junior classes embark on all-expense-paid summer trips to explore leadership opportunities and gain exposure to diverse cultural and educational experiences. Recent destinations have included Atlanta and Washington, D.C., providing students with invaluable insights and networking opportunities.
