The purpose of the Budget Services department is to assist the school district in maintaining sound fiscal management to ensure the viability of the Savannah-Chatham County Public School System. The Budget Services department assists and works closely with principals, department heads, program managers and cabinet members in managing, developing, and monitoring their various and numerous budgets.  Each year the school district prepares an annual budget which is submitted to the Chatham County Board of Education for adoption.  Prior to the adoption of the budget, the school system holds numerous public hearings to engage parents, educators, and community members.  The Savannah-Chatham County Public School System have a strong record of fiscal balance, sound reserves, and financial accountability.
