Open Records Request
Under the Georgia Open Records Act (O.C.G.A. §50-18-70 to §50-18-77), citizens have a right to inspect public records unless the records are legally exempt from disclosure.
IMPORTANT: Student Records (Transcripts, Diplomas, GEDs), Education Verification, and Employment Verification are a separate process.
Georgia governmental entities have three (3) business days from receipt of an open records request to issue a reply. David Dennison is the designated open records custodian for the Savannah-Chatham County Public School System. The time for issuing a reply begins to run on the day he receives it.
The Georgia Open Records Act does not require governmental entities to answer questions, conduct research or compile information. Open records requests should seek the inspection of records.
As a matter of practice, the Savannah-Chatham County Public School System charges for the administrative costs, postage expense and copy charges incurred when responding to an open records request. At this time, administrative costs are waived when they are less than $10. Copy charges are assessed at ten (10) cents per page. Postage expense and copy charges are not waived unless their sum value is less than $2.
Please submit all open records requests to:
