• Ensure curriculum, instruction, and assessments are aligned to support literacy and numeracy outcomes. 

• Strengthen multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) to ensure timely and targeted interventions. 

• Develop a unified, differentiated professional learning and coaching framework for school level leaders and teachers that aligns central office support, avoids duplication, strengthens practice, and advances a culture of high expectations for students behavioral and academic outcomes. 

• Ensure access to high quality instructional materials that expose students to rigorous, on-grade level materials. 

• Continue intensive focus on literacy proficiency by strengthening the implementation of a coherent Pre-K–12 literacy infrastructure that continues to position literacy as SCCPSS’s North Star by ensuring strong foundational reading in the early grades and building the capacity of all educators to accelerate literacy proficiency through evidence-based instruction, targeted intervention, job-embedded coaching, and shared accountability for student outcomes. 

• Build a strong and coherent early learning foundation by expanding access to high-quality Pre-K and ensuring every child enters kindergarten ready to learn, belong, and thrive.

• Implement practices and supports that create conditions for effective instruction and improved student outcomes. 

• Build partnerships with families, industry, and the community to support student learning and opportunity. 

• Strengthen the system of support that ensures students with diverse learning, behavioral, linguistic, and accessibility needs receive the services, interventions, and opportunities necessary to thrive.

• Expand and strengthen early childhood access through a coordinated birth-to-five effort between district and other organizations that increases high-quality learning opportunities, supports readiness for Kindergarten, and aligns  to improve long-term student success.
