Two SCCPSS Graduating Seniors Named 2025 Georgia Scholars
Two SCCPSS students from two Savannah-Chatham County Public high schools have been named 2025 Georgia Scholars by State School Superintendent Richard Woods. Through the Georgia Scholar program, the Georgia Department of Education identifies and honors high school seniors who have achieved excellence in school and community life. A total of 145 graduating seniors from across Georgia have been recognized as 2025 Georgia Scholars.
Students eligible for Georgia Scholar recognition are high school seniors who exhibit excellence in all phases of school life, in community activities, and in the home. These students have carried exemplary course loads during their four years of high school; performed excellently in all courses; successfully participated in interscholastic events at their schools and in their communities; and have assumed roles in extracurricular activities sponsored by their schools. Each Georgia Scholar receives a seal for their diploma along with a graduation cord to recognize their achievement.
“Congratulations to the 145 outstanding students honored as Georgia Scholars this year!” Superintendent Woods said. “This prestigious recognition identifies students who go above and beyond in all aspects of life – both within the school walls and in the community. I wish them great success in their futures and can’t wait to see the impact they make on our state, nation, and world.”
The 2025 SCCPSS Georgia Scholars are:
William Maher of Savannah Arts Academy
and
Faith Agbehonou of Woodville-Tompkins Technical & Career High School
The Georgia Scholar program is coordinated by GaDOE in partnership with local districts and schools.
